With its central Downtown Asheville location, abundant nearby parking and large private dining room, Cafe on the Square is the ideal space for business luncheons and dinners, birthday parties, wedding rehearsal dinners, and other social gatherings.
The private dining room and gallery features artwork by Rob O'Sheeran and is accented with three 15-foot windows, a grand piano and adjustable lighting.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
What is the maximum number of guests the private dining room can accommodate? 49
Our group is larger than 49. Can we rent out the entire restaurant? Rental of the entire restaurant is also available with a minimum of 90 guests during the low season (November through March) and 125 guests during the high season (April through October).
Can we just order off your regular dinner menu? If your party is 20 people or fewer, we can arrange a full menu event. Parties larger than 20 will select from a menu pre-arranged by the group host. Please see our Banquet Menu Options page of the website.
Do our guests pre-order before the day of the event? No. Guests are offered a small pre-printed menu of your choosing from which to order when they are seated for dinner.
We plan to offer some alcohol. How is that priced? Beer and liquor are provided using regular bar pricing. Domestic beers begin at $2.50 and all bottle imports and local brew drafts are $3.50. Wine is priced by the bottle. The host is encouraged to choose one white and one red wine from our standard list of 13 house pour wines. Only opened bottles will be added to the host bill. A larger selection of wines is available for purchase regardless of the amount served.
Can we offer only wine? Yes. In fact, we can structure your host-bar in any way you choose. You can offer your guests only beer and wine which would require a cash-bar for all liquor requested. You can offer wine only. You can offer full bar until you are seated for dinner and then go to 'wine only'. You can offer well-liquor only so that cost of top-shelf liquor is avoided.
What is the gratuity charge? The minimum server gratuity is $50 per server for a lunch event and $120 per server for a dinner event. If 18% gratuity is more than the minimum gratuity listed above, the host will be charged 18% gratuity.
Is there a room fee? Yes. Room fees change according to the day of the week and the season. Please ask the Cafe manager for more information.
Can we decorate the room? Yes. There is a $50 clean up fee for confetti.
Do you have any audio/visual equipment? No. The Cafe does have a video screen. Guests are not charged for the set-up of this screen.
Is there music? Yes. The Cafe subscribes to DMX and plays a variety of jazz and modern music. The grand piano is the property of the Jazz Composers Forum and can only be played by musicians approved by the Forum. We would be happy to assist you in arranging for live music.
